I'm German, so let me start by addressing the German Triathlon Union (DTU), its president Martin Engelhardt and secretary general Matthias Zöll:
- What has the DTU, which is financed by taxpayers' money, done so far to investigate the widespread corruption in World Triathlon?
- How is the DTU committed to protecting whistleblowers?
- For a year now, since I made the corrupt practices public, the DTU has not issued a single statement, let alone taken any action, that would indicate an interest in good governance, investigation, new elections and the punishment of the members of this triathlon mafia (known as The Group). Those who do nothing are complicit through their inaction!
I would like to expressly call on the state institutions in Germany that are responsible for granting and distributing public funds - the Sports Department at the Federal Chancellery and the Federal Administrative Office (BVA) – to act in accordance with the law: good governance is a prerequisite for state funding.
Federations that fail to fulfill their obligations in terms of good governance and combating corruption at an international level must be punished by having their funding withdrawn.
