Germany's Olympic bid and the DOSB: fundamental disputes, disregard for parliament, incompetence, waste of money, irresponsibility and madness

Next week, I will provide German readers with exclusive background information on the Olympic bid. Since dubious websites such as Insidethegames are spreading unsorted nonsense, a mixture of propaganda and AI hallucinations, I'm offering the English-speaking audience a brief summary in the meantime.

This site conducts ongoing Olympic investigations like hardly any other media.

The so-called German Olympic bid remains a mixture of embarrassing changes of direction, untruths, helplessness, total lack of transparency, propaganda and an all-encompassing scramble for billions from the budget of the Federal Republic of Germany and the participating federal states – but above all from the federal budget.

In past bids for the Olympic Games in Germany (e.g. Leipzig and Hamburg), internal projections estimated costs of around €18 billion – the vast majority of which was to be diverted from the federal budget. Externally, there were consistent lies about the true project costs, with different figures being communicated – another sad German constant.

In 2025, the situation is hardly any different.

They don't even know which Games they want to bid for. Preferably only for 2040 and 2044, not for 2036, because they shy away from the controversies surrounding the Nazi Olympics and the expected attacks from international competitors and their spin doctors.

Numerous pillars of the Nazi Olympics have formed the foundation of the German sports system – within sport, the Nazi era and its global atrocities cannot be said to have been consistently addressed to this day. Basically, the propaganda associated with the 1936 Nazi Olympics remained deeply rooted in the DNA of German sport, and the IOC by the way.
